"The Simple Things" Tag

I warned y'all I liked tags.
 So, as my second post, I'm doing a very amazing, encouraging tag that was left open! Without further ado, here it is:

#1. Dandelions! They might just be common wildflowers, but they're so pretty! And, even if you try to keep them away, they don't give up (some people call this being a weed, I call it perseverance 😁).

#2. Creative Silhouette Book Covers. I love a well-done book cover - especially when it's on an indie book. It just makes me so happy to see an indie book with a professional-looking cover! But, back to what I was talking about. 😊 Some of my favorite book covers are silhouettes or outlines of some form...like these!

#3. Crammed Bookshelves. I just love it when a bookshelf is packed full of good books! I have several small places I keep my books, but here's a pic of my favorite shelf (where I keep some of the books I've read and enjoyed):




#4. This Color!! Besides being my new favorite color, this is also a source of debate in our house...I'm convinced that it's somehow a shade of blue, but my dad says it's clearly green. I'm just going to call it teal. 😊



#5. Handwritten Fonts. I really like fonts in general, but handwritten fonts are the best!

So, there you have it. Five simple things that make me happy. They might all seem silly, but that doesn't mean they are. This reminds me of a Bible verse that I love: 
“Instead, God chose things the world considers foolish in order to shame those who think they are wise. And he chose things that are powerless to shame those who are powerful. God chose things despised by the world, things counted as nothing at all, and used them to bring to nothing what the world considers important.” - 1 Corinthians 1:27-28 NLT
Just because something is simple doesn't mean that isn't important. So, go and enjoy the simple things!

    Lovely tag, Abby!! :D It's such a good reminder to appreciate them many blessings that God puts all around us! And I love book covers with silhouettes on them too (like the Baker Family Adventures series!) I think I'll do this tag on my blog too!! ;)

Let Me Introduce You...

I admit it.      My characters are real people to me. They have personalities, ideals, quirks, motivations, beliefs, good points, bad points. Like real-life people. I just happened to make these people up.     They're real to me, though, and I hope that, once you read their stories, they'll be real to you, too (a lot of commas right there).     First, though, you've got to know who they are. 2021: My Word of the Year

  Welcome to 2021!! I could go into the long, well-researched ramble I had started about New Year's resolutions (the statistics on those are interesting!). Or I could list out some of my goals for 2021. But, I'm not going to do either of those. Instead, I'm here for a short post: my word of the year. I don't know how exactly y'all took this word - but I don't mean trust other people. I don't mean trust myself. I sure don't mean trust everything I hear. I mean trust God .  I mean that I want to learn how to trust God with everything in me. To not worry when everyone else is worrying. To not turn away when everyone else is turning away. To not stay silent when everyone else is staying silent. To not back down when everyone else is backing down. To not be afraid when everyone else is afraid. And so, this year, I hope you'll join me. Joining me in trusting God. With everything. 💙 Love, Do you have a 2021 Word of the Year?
