Indie Author Reviews: Hannah Foster

Welcome to the second part of my first Indie Author Spotlight! Today, I'll be reviewing Hannah Foster's two adorable short stories, "Ella Pursued" and "A Family for Christmas." Note: I received a free e-copy of each story in exchange for an honest review. A positive review was not required. All cover images are from Goodreads. Ella Pursued Genre: Contemporary Christian Romance Length: Short Story Back-Cover Blurb:  Ella has narrowly escaped a fatal marriage once, but she plans to never be caught in that web again. It’s been easy to evade the young men of her church so far, but Joe is different. Can Ella keep avoiding the ever-persistent Joe, especially when she knows her own heart is pulled toward him? Can she trust Joe and, more importantly, can she trust God? Is she willing to face her fears or will she continue to run, breaking more hearts than one? My rating: 4 Stars My review:  Such a powerful story! It's a great length, too! Short enough to be

Indie Author Spotlight: Hannah Foster

Welcome to our first Indie Author Spotlight! Today, please welcome my friend and fellow writer, Hannah Foster! About the Author Hannah has authored two sweet short stories, " Ella Pursued " and " A Family for Christmas ". My reviews of these stories will come out Thursday! For now, though, let me introduce Hannah! Hannah Foster was born and raised in North Carolina where she was homeschooled with her eight siblings. She attended college in Minnesota where she got her bachelor's degree in literature, learned to survive temperatures of below zero, and became Mrs. Foster. From a young age, Hannah has loved reading. Throughout her teen years, she also enjoyed journaling and blogging, but it wasn't till her mid-twenties that she discovered her love for penning her own stories. Hannah's desire is that the words she writes would bring hope and light in a dark world. Besides reading and writing, she also enjoys baking, watercolor painting, and all things vintage

I promised an update for my novel, Like a Warrior  - and here it is!!! * * * I finally have a timeline and roadmap for publication!!!!!! To all of my beta readers, who signed up months ago and have put up with all of my shifting timelines and long messages - thank you!!! You can expect your e-copy of LAW on or before February 19th! After that, I'll sort through beta feedback, make my revisions, send it off to an editor, and then . . .  It'll be time for a cover reveal! I'm aiming to do the cover reveal in early May, and I'll put more information about that out closer to time. After that - blog tour! I'm planning to run the blog tour from June 11th-18th.  And then, on June 18th - Publish my novel!!!! 💙 I know that's nearly five months from now, but, trust me, I have a LOT of work to do. 😂 Not only on revisions, but with publicity and marketing and such. And putting a hard date out there for the world to see . . . scares me. But it also gives me a lot  more acco

Inspirational Wallpapers

Some time ago, my best friend suggested that I make several wallpapers and post them on my blog for y'all. So - here you go!  I had a ton of fun making these, and I hope you enjoy them!  They're divided up into five collections - click on the collection graphic to see all of the wallpapers in a downloadable format. Just right-click (or, on mobile, touch and hold) on the image you want to download, and then hit "save image" or "download image." These are totally free for you to use and share with friends!

Announcement Time!

Welcome back, y'all! So, I have several quick announcements. Here we go! As you may have noticed, I've switched my posting days - weekly posts every Thursday, posts on some Mondays. I think Thursday posts will be a lot more manageable for me than Tuesday posts. I'm starting a new ongoing blog series called "Indie Author Spotlights." As of right now, my plans are to do a quick interview and guest post with the author on a Monday. Then, that Thursday, I would give my review of some/all of their stories (depending on how many they have and I've read). I have a list of authors to contact (or that I've already contacted) personally. However, if you would like to participate in a spotlight, let me know! Here's a Google Form with much more info and the sign-up form! The King's Daughters' Writing Camp is hosting a Mini Camp! Sign up opens on January 18th, Camp starts on January 20th, Camp ends on January 27th, and the "gates close" on Janua

Becoming Miss Knight: Cover Reveal

It's cover reveal day for a wonderful novella, Becoming Miss Knight by Kellyn Roth! Becoming Miss Knight is no easy task, but surrender is not an option. Alice Knight’s debut is in less than a year, and everything has to be perfect. Of course, she’d rather be riding her horse or playing with her younger siblings than learning to curtsy. But, with her mother in France for a holiday, the care of the house falls to her—and what better time to learn what it really means to be a lady? Ivy, her twin sister, has other things on her mind. Namely, the endless conundrum of why she promised to keep an eye on her younger siblings while her parents are gone. She’s the least-qualified person to take care of them, but, bound by her word, she’s determined to try. Even with all the guidance and advice available, becoming Miss Knight isn’t proving to be easy for either of them. However, any amount of work is worth keeping a promise to their mother. This short novella, set between Ivy Introspective

The New Year's Book Tag

Thanks for this fun tag, Katja ! Here we go! 1. How many books are you planning to read in 2021? 70! When I say that, I don't mean full-length print novels for all of them. I set my Goodreads reading goal at 70, and that includes print novels, ebooks, audiobooks, novellas, and short stories. 2. Name 5 books that you didn’t get to this year but want to make a priority in 2021. O to Be Like Thee by Kassie Angle Smoke Screen by Terri Blackstock Vow of Justice by Lynette Eason The Eagle of the Ninth by Rosemary Sutcliff Phantom Thief by P.D. Atkerson 3. What genre do you want to read more of? Suspense, particularly ones with law enforcement as main characters. 🤩💙 4. Name 3 non-book-related goals for 2021. Keeping up with my blog. Journalling at least a few days a week. Staying hydrated better than I have been.  5. What’s a book you’ve had forever that you still need to read? Hmmm . . . there are several, and I listed a few of my favorites in question #2. But . . . I'm goin

2021: My Word of the Year

Welcome to 2021!! I could go into the long, well-researched ramble I had started about New Year's resolutions (the statistics on those are interesting!). Or I could list out some of my goals for 2021. But, I'm not going to do either of those. Instead, I'm here for a short post: my word of the year. I don't know how exactly y'all took this word - but I don't mean trust other people. I don't mean trust myself. I sure don't mean trust everything I hear. I mean trust God .  I mean that I want to learn how to trust God with everything in me. To not worry when everyone else is worrying. To not turn away when everyone else is turning away. To not stay silent when everyone else is staying silent. To not back down when everyone else is backing down. To not be afraid when everyone else is afraid. And so, this year, I hope you'll join me. Joining me in trusting God. With everything. 💙 Love, Do you have a 2021 Word of the Year?
