The New Year's Book Tag

Thanks for this fun tag, Katja! Here we go!

1. How many books are you planning to read in 2021?

70! When I say that, I don't mean full-length print novels for all of them. I set my Goodreads reading goal at 70, and that includes print novels, ebooks, audiobooks, novellas, and short stories.

2. Name 5 books that you didn’t get to this year but want to make a priority in 2021.

  1. O to Be Like Thee by Kassie Angle
  2. Smoke Screen by Terri Blackstock
  3. Vow of Justice by Lynette Eason
  4. The Eagle of the Ninth by Rosemary Sutcliff
  5. Phantom Thief by P.D. Atkerson

3. What genre do you want to read more of?

Suspense, particularly ones with law enforcement as main characters. 🤩💙

4. Name 3 non-book-related goals for 2021.

  1. Keeping up with my blog.
  2. Journalling at least a few days a week.
  3. Staying hydrated better than I have been.

5. What’s a book you’ve had forever that you still need to read?

Hmmm . . . there are several, and I listed a few of my favorites in question #2. But . . . I'm going to say Whose Waves These Are by Amanda Dykes.

6. One word that you’re hoping 2021 will be:

Powerful.

7. Tag a friend!

Well, I know I'm not even doing this until a week and a half into the new year, but I'll still tag anyone who wants to do this!
So . . . I tag SawyerMarie and Ellen! And anyone else who wants to do it!

Love,

How many books do you want to read in 2021? Any other book-ish goals?

  4. Enjoyed reading this! 💙 My reading goal for this year is 121 - and I'm beginning to realize that I may have been overly ambitious when I set that goal. XD
"Phantom Thief" is on my TBR. (I hear it's really good.) I read "O To Be Like Thee" last year, and it was amazing!

Character #3: Hawke

Welcome to our third character interview!!!  Today, I'm interviewing Hawke, Briannon's brother and — at times — Maverek's nemeses. Yep. Just leaving that right there. Here we go! Abby: Hey, Hawke! Thanks for letting me interview you! Hawke: Hello. *shifts in seat* Please tell me this isn't going to take too long? Abby: Nope, I'll keep it short! Hawke: *smiles* Short like Bree and Maverek's? Abby: Fine. *rolls eyes* I'll keep yours even shorter, so long as you give me good answers to the questions I do ask. Hawke: Deal. Abby: What's your name mean? Hawke: You expect me to know? It's a bird. Just a bird. Abby: *smiles* Okay, we'll go with that. Theme song? Hawke: "Til the Day I Die" by TobyMac. Abby: Yeah, we're going to need to work on that . . . I feel like you have another theme song that you just don't want to share. Hawke: *cocks eyebrow and grins* Keeping this short, remember? We only have time for one theme song. Abby: Fi...

Character #2: Maverek // Blogging Schedule

Hey! I haven't even posted since the blog tour (which was so much fun!), but I'm finally back with the next character interview and what I *hope* will be a blogging schedule I can keep up with! First off, the schedule: I'm going to try to post every Tuesday morning, with posts on Fridays sometimes. With school, writing, and life . . . who knows how often those Friday posts will come. Now, on to interviewing Maverek! He isn't overly thrilled about this, but he agreed to try. *sighs* Finally. Here goes! Abby: Hey, Maverek! I'm so glad you could come! Maverek: *smiles slightly* Only because you and Briannon begged me. Abby: Well, I appreciate it! I'll try to keep this shorter than Bree's. Maverek: Thank you. Abby: Okay, to start us off, what does your name mean? Maverek: In your time, it means "independent." I think that meaning was invented somewhat recently, though. Abby: I think so. But, hey, it fits you! Maybe too well. Maverek: I suppose it does...
