The New Year's Book Tag

Thanks for this fun tag, Katja! Here we go!

1. How many books are you planning to read in 2021?

70! When I say that, I don't mean full-length print novels for all of them. I set my Goodreads reading goal at 70, and that includes print novels, ebooks, audiobooks, novellas, and short stories.

2. Name 5 books that you didn’t get to this year but want to make a priority in 2021.

  1. O to Be Like Thee by Kassie Angle
  2. Smoke Screen by Terri Blackstock
  3. Vow of Justice by Lynette Eason
  4. The Eagle of the Ninth by Rosemary Sutcliff
  5. Phantom Thief by P.D. Atkerson

3. What genre do you want to read more of?

Suspense, particularly ones with law enforcement as main characters. 🤩💙

4. Name 3 non-book-related goals for 2021.

  1. Keeping up with my blog.
  2. Journalling at least a few days a week.
  3. Staying hydrated better than I have been.

5. What’s a book you’ve had forever that you still need to read?

Hmmm . . . there are several, and I listed a few of my favorites in question #2. But . . . I'm going to say Whose Waves These Are by Amanda Dykes.

6. One word that you’re hoping 2021 will be:

Powerful.

7. Tag a friend!

Well, I know I'm not even doing this until a week and a half into the new year, but I'll still tag anyone who wants to do this!
So . . . I tag SawyerMarie and Ellen! And anyone else who wants to do it!

Love,

How many books do you want to read in 2021? Any other book-ish goals?

  4. Enjoyed reading this! 💙 My reading goal for this year is 121 - and I'm beginning to realize that I may have been overly ambitious when I set that goal. XD
"Phantom Thief" is on my TBR. (I hear it's really good.) I read "O To Be Like Thee" last year, and it was amazing!

Goodbye for Now

First off, I'm sorry I didn't get a post out last week! It's been a crazy few weeks - or, rather, months. And it's not gonna get any better. I'm finishing up high school in the next two weeks, leaving for college in a few months, trying to balance a sometimes-frustrating job, and working to get Like a Warrior  ready to go into the world. (a few months later than intended, sadly. But I want to do this right, so I'm willing to wait a little longer) And, so, for right now, I'm going to have to step back from blogging. This isn't permanent. This is just me trying to focus on my priorities and do what God wants me to do. Goodbye for now, y'all. Without worrying about publishing posts myself, hopefully I can be more active with reading and commenting on other blogs. And, if all goes as planned, I'll be back later ready to go full-steam-ahead with launch plans for LAW. Thank everyone one of you so much - for reading, commenting, encouraging me. I love y...

7 Days of Hope Blog Tour - My Post!

Hey, y'all!  I hope you've enjoyed this blog tour so far! These girls' posts are so beautiful and hopeful! I didn't realize how inspiring it would be to see so many people sharing what hope is to them!     Well - now it's my turn! Here goes!     Since I was little, my favorite Bible verse has been Isaiah 43:1.     (Feel free to download this image and the one below! You can use them as phone wallpapers - that's what I plan on doing with them!)     The wonderful, encouraging verse that comes right after this one, about God being with you through deep waters, seems to be quoted a lot more. But that wasn't the verse that I clung to for years. It was this one. Where God said that He had called me by name .    What hope could ever be greater than knowing that the God of the universe has called you by name?      When I think of hope and beauty and wonder...     O ne of my favorite classic heroines comes...

First Post!

Welcome, y'all! I'm Abby, and I'm so glad you dropped by!      You can read more about me here . I spent a lot of time working on that page, and I don't want to go through that again...      I made this blog to mostly be about bookish stuff - book reviews, behind-the-scenes looks at my writing, blog tours for online friends, etc. And tags. Because I just love tags.       Now, to be honest, this blog wasn't even my idea - my dad suggested it. And it wouldn't have been possible without his help - and a whole lot of encouragement and suggestions from my incredible friend, SawyerMarie (she's also a great blogger - you can find her blog, Sundrop Girls, here ). Sawyer, this probably wouldn't be happening right now without you. Thanks, girl. I'm so glad God let us become friends. 💙     I'm hoping to post at least once or twice a week, but, never having done this before, I'm not making any promises. 😊     Also - this blog i...
