2021: My Word of the Year

Welcome to 2021!!

I could go into the long, well-researched ramble I had started about New Year's resolutions (the statistics on those are interesting!). Or I could list out some of my goals for 2021.

But, I'm not going to do either of those. Instead, I'm here for a short post: my word of the year.

I don't know how exactly y'all took this word - but I don't mean trust other people. I don't mean trust myself. I sure don't mean trust everything I hear. I mean trust God

I mean that I want to learn how to trust God with everything in me. To not worry when everyone else is worrying. To not turn away when everyone else is turning away. To not stay silent when everyone else is staying silent. To not back down when everyone else is backing down. To not be afraid when everyone else is afraid.

And so, this year, I hope you'll join me. Joining me in trusting God. With everything. ๐Ÿ’™

Love,

Do you have a 2021 Word of the Year?

Comments

  1. Trust is such a great word! My word of the year is "contentment".

  2. That is a great word of the year! Trusting God is so important, though difficult at times.
No, I don't have a Word of the Year. :)

  3. Truthfulness is my word for the year

  4. Trust is my word of the year too! ๐Ÿ’œ

  5. *raises hand* I'll join you! I've never given myself a word for the new year before or done anything like that, but it's not a bad idea! And Trust is so hard to come by these days - but Trusting God sounds amazing.
And - the picture is so beautiful! ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜

My words this year (can’t just choose one!)

  7. Mine is Strong. I want to grow spiritually stronger this year. Last year (2020), I didn't read the Word every day like I ought to and I just feel like I'm not spiritually strong.

  9. Love this! ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’™ (And that graphic is so pretty! ๐Ÿ’™)
Last year (2020), my word was Faith. (Pretty similar to Trust.) I'm still not 100% decided on this year's word (I like last year's word so much I'm tempted to keep it.), but I think I might do Hope.
Hope you have an awesome year!!

February 2021: Wrap Up//Writing Update

Is it just me, or did February slip right by us? Like - shouldn't it still be January? ๐Ÿคจ Anyway, I did get a lot of stuff done in February, short as it seemed. Started back my old routine of getting up before 6am to go sit on the porch and drink my cup of coffee. Did my first "rant-y" blog post. Had an amazing guest post by author Kellyn Roth. Got to do an interview with my friend Ellen Senechal - and she even shared an excerpt from her devotional! Made good progress on finding a routine for life, now that I'm balancing college, work, writing, and my personal life. Pushed harder on running, and got my fastest time in a while. Had an amazing surprise Barnes & Noble trip (supposedly me, my mama, and my sister were going clothes shopping - but the bookstore was only a few doors down from the clothes store, so I left them to clothes shop while I hunted for book bargains ๐Ÿ˜†). Discovered a new classic author that I already love - Agatha Christie. ๐Ÿคฉ (Not that Hercule P...

Songs that Got Me Through

Well, here I am with the music post that I'd mentioned! These are songs that have helped me through tough times. I usually don't "keep" songs like this for more than a few months, just because circumstances change, and thus what I look for in a "survival song" changes. So I've developed quite a collection over this years, and this isn't a full list. :D (Now, don't think that this, by any means, represents my full spectrum of unique musical tastes. But this is a little sampling. XD Proceed with caution. All songs are perfectly clean and nearly all could be classified as Christian. But that leaves a lot of room for my love of multiple genres. XD) All This Time - Britt Nicole I don't even know how old I was when I fell in love with this song. I also don't know why I fell in love with it. XD But it's beautiful, and I still listen to it once in a while today. <3 All this time, from the first tear cry, To today's sunrise, and every s...

First Post!

Welcome, y'all! I'm Abby, and I'm so glad you dropped by!      You can read more about me here . I spent a lot of time working on that page, and I don't want to go through that again...      I made this blog to mostly be about bookish stuff - book reviews, behind-the-scenes looks at my writing, blog tours for online friends, etc. And tags. Because I just love tags.       Now, to be honest, this blog wasn't even my idea - my dad suggested it. And it wouldn't have been possible without his help - and a whole lot of encouragement and suggestions from my incredible friend, SawyerMarie (she's also a great blogger - you can find her blog, Sundrop Girls, here ). Sawyer, this probably wouldn't be happening right now without you. Thanks, girl. I'm so glad God let us become friends. ๐Ÿ’™     I'm hoping to post at least once or twice a week, but, never having done this before, I'm not making any promises. ๐Ÿ˜Š     Also - this blog i...
