But . . . life happened, and I just couldn't get it done on time without stressing myself out badly.  Hopefully it'll be up Friday, though! If not, you can count it being posted by Tuesday evening! Welcome to day one in my new three-part series!  For three Tuesdays in a row, I want to share some tips about the incredible art of designing book covers. I've spent hours and hours researching, observing, critiquing, experimenting with, stressing over, and having fun with book cover design. And I'm still not tired of it. Matter of fact, I spent hours yesterday making sample covers for this blog post, knowing full and well that there wasn't even a story to go with any of them. However, for a lot of y'all, stressing for hours over the perfect book cover probably  isn't  your idea of fun.  But that doesn't mean you get to skip doing it. I know that a lot of people will tell you that you should always  hire a professional to create your cover. And I'm not saying that isn't a good idea.  But I know that professional book covers are expensive, and that a lot of indie authors don't have a couple hundred dollars lying around to buy one.  Look what showed up in my inbox!     Early next month, some amazing bloggers are starting a fun book "party," full of book recommendations and even a giveaway.     I followed this party last year, and it was awesome! I'm looking forward to it, and I hope y'all can find some fun new books there, too! ---     Also - stay tuned! I'm working on a three-part blog series that I'm hoping will be fun and helpful!  Hey! I haven't even posted since the blog tour (which was so much fun!), but I'm finally back with the next character interview and what I *hope* will be a blogging schedule I can keep up with! First off, the schedule: I'm going to try to post every Tuesday morning, with posts on Fridays sometimes. With school, writing, and life . . . who knows how often those Friday posts will come.  Hey, y'all!  I hope you've enjoyed this blog tour so far! These girls' posts are so beautiful and hopeful! I didn't realize how inspiring it would be to see so many people sharing what hope is to them!     Well - now it's my turn! Here goes!     Since I was little, my favorite Bible verse has been Isaiah 43:1.     (Feel free to download this image and the one below! You can use them as phone wallpapers - that's what I plan on doing with them!)     The wonderful, encouraging verse that comes right after this one, about God being with you through deep waters, seems to be quoted a lot more. But that wasn't the verse that I clung to for years. It was this one. Where God said that He had called me by name .    What hope could ever be greater than knowing that the God of the universe has called you by name?      When I think of hope and beauty and wonder...     O ne of my favorite classic heroines comes...
