Like a Warrior

"There is a warrior inside of me. If only I could find her."

Briannon, fiery heiress of Zayvia, is left in the ashes when an invading army and a fervent revolution rage across her once peaceful land. Alongside the peasant she knows as a brother and the shadowy revolutionary leading the fight, she takes a stand against both her pompous uncle and the cunning raiders. But when everything she loves begins to crash and burn, Briannon has a choice: admit defeat or rise like a warrior.

    1. Hi, Hannah! I would love to have you as one, but I do have several people already signed up. 😕 If you want to drop a comment with your email address (I'll won't post it, I'll just see it come up for approval and I'll delete it), though, I can make a note of it! That way if I end up needing another beta reader, I can contact you!

    2. Hi, Hannah! I saw your other comments go through, but I won't publish them here. :)
But - I did see that you have a blog listed on your profile - if you have comment moderation turned on there, I can drop a comment with a link to a Google Doc (you can click on the link but not publish the comment). Then I could give you all the info there, and then drop another comment if I need another beta reader. In that case, I could put the story in our shared Doc. You wouldn't ever need to give me your email, that way (I have two other readers that I contact like that).
That's the only other way I'd know of. :)

  3. Hi Abby -

I really like your story collages. I'm thinking about making a story collage for a book of mine, but I'm not that tech savvy. :) How do you make them? Thanks!

    1. Hi!!! Thank you!
So - I use a website called Canva. They have thousands of stock photos built in! You can just find the photos you want, just the "adjust" tab to filter them so they have a similar look, and then arrange them how you want!

Fonts & Titles: Book Cover Design Crash Course - Part 1

Welcome to day one in my new three-part series!  For three Tuesdays in a row, I want to share some tips about the incredible art of designing book covers. I've spent hours and hours researching, observing, critiquing, experimenting with, stressing over, and having fun with book cover design. And I'm still not tired of it. Matter of fact, I spent hours yesterday making sample covers for this blog post, knowing full and well that there wasn't even a story to go with any of them. However, for a lot of y'all, stressing for hours over the perfect book cover probably  isn't  your idea of fun.  But that doesn't mean you get to skip doing it. I know that a lot of people will tell you that you should always  hire a professional to create your cover. And I'm not saying that isn't a good idea.  But I know that professional book covers are expensive, and that a lot of indie authors don't have a couple hundred dollars lying around to buy one. So, hopefully, I can...

7 Days of Hope: Day 7!

Welcome to one of the last stops on the 7 Days of Hope Blog Tour! I hope you've enjoyed this tour and that it's been an encouragement to you. <3  Hebrews 10:23 (NLT) says, "Let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep his promise." When I was trying to find a verse and a translation to use for today, I came across something interesting - some versions used the word "hope" here, as the NLT does. And some didn't. So, curious, I traced it back to the Greek using the built-in Strong's Concordance in one of my Bible apps. The word used here for "hope" is "elpis" (pronounced, "elle-PEACE"). It doesn't mean just, plainly, "hope" or "faith," as it's translated. One definition is, more directly, "hope." But the word, in two of three definitions and by its root word, means "expectation." Oddly enough, the word itself doesn't even s...
